Overview

The World Bank Group is an extended family of five international organizations, and the parent organization of the World Bank, the collective name given to the first two listed organizations, the IBRD and the IDA:

  • International Bank for Reconstruction and Development (IBRD)

  • International Development Association (IDA)

  • International Finance Corporation (IFC)

  • Multilateral Investment Guarantee Agency (MIGA)

  • International Centre for Settlement of Investment Disputes (ICSID)


Notable Content

In 2021, an independent inquiry of the World Bank's Doing Business reports by the law firm WilmerHale found that World Bank leaders, including then-Chief Executive Kristalina Georgieva and then-President Jim Yong Kim,[90] pressured staff members of the bank to alter data to inflate the rankings for China, Saudi Arabia, Azerbaijan and the United Arab Emirates.[91][92]
